I don't know about you, but illness typically decides to descend during vacation. So here I am with a week of vacation ahead and I'm not feeling so hot. I've lost interest in food. It's been bad enough that I don't want to cook (or eat). But couple that with the fact that watching food tv makes me want to hurl, reading cookbooks or cooking magazines makes me feel nauseous and I've descended into a special section of hell reserved just for recalcitrant foodies. If only I know what praises to sing to alleviate my pain.
On the other hand, the sniffles have produced Mommy pity; she's on a plane up to spend a week with me next Monday and I've already put together a menu of what I want to eat.
I suppose while she's here I should try to learn how to cook some of her dishes as well...
Happy Holidays everyone! Be warm and safe!
Oh you poor thing! Hope Mommy makes you feel better (they always do, don't they) and you get your strength up enough to have a little bit of Christmas dinner. Happy Holidays! xx

I hope that you feel better soon and get some good food that makes that process easier.

So sorry you are sick. I sympathize. The day my holiday started I came down with the flu and bronchitis. Yuk. Hope things get better with your Mom there. Love your site. Merry Christmas.

Hope you're feeling better now ... I can totally relate. I've been sick for the past 2 weeks, as have Nicholas and The Husband. NOT a fun month for sure...

You are all so sweet -- thank you so much. Mom's food has definitely been shoring me up -- although I overdid it the other night when she made one of my favorite stews. I think I made myself sick eating waaaaaaaaay too much of it.
Luisa - Happy Holidays! Hoping you're staying safe and warm in New York!
Jaspreet -- oh yes, the food is definitely perking me up. I'm still lacking energy or tastebuds though. Feh.
Fran, thanks for the kind words! Mom's been great -- I hope you're feeling better from the flu AND bronchitis?! Get well!
Sweetnicks -- oh man...two weeks with a sick child and husband? Who am I to complain? Feel better soon!
